Additional Patrols to Target Seatbelt Violations
Beginning July 6th, 2022 through July 31st, 2022, the Summit Police Department will be
conducting special patrols to encourage people to wear their seat belts and officers will be
enforcing the seatbelt law.
We urge our community residents and visitors to always buckle up – it’s your best defense in a
crash.
This additional occupant protection enforcement is administered by the Illinois Department of
Transportation with federal highway safety funds managed by the National Highway Traffic
Safety Administration.
