A new memorial statue honoring Mamie Till-Mobley, the mother of Emmett Till whose social justice activism helped begin the civil rights movement in the 1950s, was unveiled outside of Argo Community High School on April 29th. Till-Mobley, an Argo graduate herself, was one of the few African Americans to attend the school at the time and lived in Summit on 64th Street prior to moving to Chicago with Emmett.
