The Summit Police Department helped raise $2,300 for Special Olympics on Friday morning, May 19th. The event was part of the annual Cops on a Rooftop event held at various Dunkin' Donuts locations across the state.

"It was a great event due to the outpouring of support from the community," said Interim Police Chief Mel Ortiz. "Summit residents and all who passed by to stop and talk with the officers were amazing people who wanted to help a great cause. We raised approximately $2,300.00 for Special Olympics thanks to the good hearts of all who came through and we thank them one and all!"

The fundraising began early in the morning at 5 a.m. and lasted until 12 p.m.
